For Indian Doctors, Post Graduation to be 4 Years from next year

A news article in Economic Times titled

"For doctors, post graduation now a long & rustic journey
"

All postgraduates (private and govt colleges), all over India will have to work for one year in rural area as part of Post graduation, which will now be extended to 4 years.

Every few months the health minister comes up with a crazy idea to make our life miserable, and people in the newspapers keep wondering why doctors emigrate to other countries.

Most rural areas here have terrible facilities for people so this will be a welcome move from their point of view. Plus, this is normal practice in many other countries to provide basic care to rural parts. It is only us Indians who are whining about such things that may help uplift and provide the most basic medical care to rural people. Things to complain about is the terrible wages that doctors here get, the corrupt admissions process, the horrible treatment of students by tutors and seniors and so much more.

They emigrate because the government does not pay them adequately!!!
